COMMUNICATIONS AND DIGITAL MARKETING OFFICER
THE ROLE
The Irish Association for Palliative Care (IAPC) has an exciting
opportunity to work as part of our developing organisation. We are
inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of
COMMUNICATIONS AND DIGITAL MARKETING OFFICER to join our small but
efficient team. The successful candidate will, together with the GM,
lead, promote, and implement communications, branding, and digital
marketing strategies for the IAPC across multiple platforms and
channels (including website, social media platforms and newsletter).
Together with the GM develop and manage internal and external
communication flow, promoting awareness of IAPC core services and its
role to members and key stakeholders. The core responsibilities of the
role will be to produce content which clearly articulates our vision
and work, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and keeping
all social media platforms up to date, by developing and driving the
digital strategy, creative development and content delivery that
supports IAPC?s core brand and communication strategy. The
Communications & Digital Marketing Officer will play a crucial role in
ongoing digital transformation across the organization, contributing
expertise in digital platforms and resources, and working with and
managing third party suppliers to deliver the strategy.

day-to-day marketing and communications activities. Be a

This is a part-time position (**Apply on the website** hours per
week), offered on a three year contract, subject to funding.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
OVERALL
To develop and manage the IAPC?s communication strategy to include,
website, written content, report writing, and social media
development. To engage with and develop membership and membership
Forums.
WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT
The website for the IAPC requires a complete make over. This will
involve procurement and sourcing third party developers, developing
content and ensuring that the website is regularly updated with news,
events, information, podcasts, webinars and photographs.
* Maintain the website on an ongoing basis ensuring that all content
is up to date and relevant.
* Ensure on-going management and maintenance of IAPC website.
* Create a member only section and ensure its relevance to members
SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS
Management of messaging and engagement across social media channels
with a specific focus on ensuring the IAPC?s Visions, Mission and
Values are communicated clearly and effectively.
* Manage content across multiple platforms such as Instagram,
Facebook, Twitter and TikTok, WhatsApp etc monitoring reach,
conversion, and engagement.
* Lead on day-to-day social media management, working with GM to
ensure any questions on the channels are answered and flag any
potential crisis situations.
* Identify and work with influencers to help raise awareness of IAPC
and our work.
* Identify and develop media opportunities, working closely with
GM/Chairperson and other staff/Board members across the organisation.
* Liaising with all relevant stakeholders to develop a strong media
plan and to ensure IAPC is promoted well.
* Be a public relations representative that fields questions about
services, exciting developments, and advancement of membership
services.
MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT
* Implement a Membership Strategy to ensure that support for the IAPC
among members is strong in terms of levels of participation,
engagement and funding support.
* Identify new members and support the implementation of the
membership strategy, including active membership promotion at events
and meetings.
* Identify, monitor and respond to the needs of the membership as
they relate to the IAPC?s mission and help to retain and build the
IAPC?s membership base.
* Represent IAPC at external meetings and events promoting the
organisation?s work.
* Build relationships with relevant external stakeholders
* Generate monthly newsletters for IAPC members on recent
developments, events and opportunities in palliative care, updating
existing template and sourcing news, conferences, upcoming events for
distribution
* Develop membership polls through the Newsletter, provide support
with event reporting, generating reports, collating feedback and
inputting to GM, designing at a glance, infographics for use on
website and social media platforms
* Develop webinars and podcasts with members
* Provide administration support to all membership events
FORUM?S
* Work with GM to develop Board approved Forum?s, with a view to
ensuring that specific membership needs are addressed.
* Together with the Administration Officer and General Manager,
provide administration support for the different forums to include,
identifying new members for each fora, booking venues, and providing
secretariat for each fora.
REPORTING
* Report on web, social media platforms and newsletter, analytics on
monthly basis for input to the Board.
* Develop infographics for the newsletter, website and social media
platforms
MEDIA
* Help prepare briefings and spokespeople for media interviews and
public speaking engagements.
* Act as a brand advocate for the organisation, working with
colleagues to ensure all assets and communications reflect our brand
guidelines.
* Ensure our communications are tailored effectively to reach
specific project audiences.
* Together with GM manage enquiries from press and other interested
parties.
* Use all available performance management tools to monitor, report
and analyse results to improve performance.
ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
As a staff member of the IAPC Team:
* Take part in and contribute to the development of Communications
and Development Strategies.
* Take part in and contribute to strategic/work planning, budgetary
and evaluation activities.
* Assist the General Manager to prepare reports for the Board,
funders and donors.
CONTRIBUTION TO IAPC
At all times, operate to the highest professional, ethical and
performance standards. This includes adapting effortlessly to changing
circumstances in IAPC and undertaking and realigning any
responsibility, within reason that the GM requires. This list of

ESSENTIAL ? CANDIDATE MUST HAVE
* Third Level Qualification in Communications, Multimedia,
Journalism, Marketing or related field.
* Relevant experience in a communications / digital marketing role
with experience in managing content across multiple platforms such as
Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok etc monitoring reach,
conversion, and engagement.
* The ability to create, co-ordinate and publish effective
communications, marketing content and growing membership across
various media platforms and channels, including the website, social
media, and print.
* The skills to develop and implement a digital content strategy to
support the organisations goals, e.g., fundraising campaigns,
educational courses, bereavement support services, web traffic, and
volunteers
* Content calendar creation and management, working with the GM to
ensure this supports consistency of messages.
* Capability to be a public relations representative that provides
journalists with content for editorial features, fields media
enquiries and where appropriate develop responses/statements in
association with the General Manager/Chair person.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
* The Communication and Digital Officer will work with and report to
the General Manager and have ultimate reporting to the Board.
DESIRABLE
* Experience of working with websites and social media platforms,
minimum 3 years
* Experience working in the non-profit sector would be an advantage
but is not essential.
